Lodging for Out-of-Town Guests
Off-island guests are expected to pay for their own lodging, unless they are members of the wedding party. However, it is helpful, especially for a destination wedding, for the bride and groom to arrange lodging.
Reserve a block of rooms in a hotel. Your consultant can help you especially if you are reserving blocks at serveral inns. If a minimum number of rooms is booked, your guests may get discount room rates.
If you are on island and/or have on island friends, accept any offer to house guests. Make sure that hosts and the guests are a good match. Remember to give thank-you gifts to anyone who provides lodging to your guests
If off-island guests are staying in private homes, their hosts should be invited to any events or parties as well.
Send thank-you gifts or flowers anyone who provided accommodations in their homes for your off-island wedding guests with thank-you gifts and notes.
