Vow Renewals
Why limit your thinking to just "The Wedding"? These days more and more people are renewing their wedding vows. There is one story told of a beautiful story of one such ceremony arranged as a surprise. On the day of his 14th wedding anniversary, a man found out that he had cancer. But he faced the problem with great grace and courage. A month before the date he and his wife were to celebrate their 15th anniversary, he called his minister and arranged a surprise. When the couple arrived on Nantucket they got settled, and then, at the appointed hour, they went to the church on the pretext of trying to get into the tower to view Nantucket under the moon and stars. Finding a door that would open (part of the plan), they entered, and the wife was almost overcome with emotion. "They opened the door to candlelight and music," Tom recalls, "and then we redid their original vows. There were many tears of happiness that night. It was fantastic."
